Do you know which plants are toxic for your pet ?
Our plants and flowers can be dangerous for our pets. Here is a non-comprehensive list of toxic plants (the very toxic plants are highlighted in red). If you suspect that you pet has chewed something potentially toxic, call your vet !
Indoor plants :
Sanseviera (monther-in-law’s tongue), brunfelsia, dieffenbachia(dumb cane), dracanea (dragon trees), ivy, monstera, ficus, philodendron, fir needles, poinsettia.
Garden plants :
amaryllis, rhododendron, boxwood, houx (ilex)holly, yew, brugmansia, foxglove, laburnum, lily of the valley, mistletoe, nerium, thuja, lily..
Do you know which household products are toxic for your dog ?
Some food items and commonly used products can be dangerous for your dog. Here is a non-comprehensive list of food items and cleaning products potentially fatal for your pet. The amount your pet has swallowed will determine if he/she develops symptoms and how ill your pet will get. Always call your vet to know if the quantity swallowed is dangerous for your animal and to know if a treatment is necessary.
Harmful food products :
Chocolate, black tea, coffee, grapes and raisins, garlic, onions, sweeteners, sweets, toothpaste, chewing-gums, fruit stones (apricots, plums, peaches, almonds), macadamia nuts.
Harmful household products :
Alcohol, aspirin, anti-freeze, slug pellets, rat poison, tobacco, cannabis, mercury, lead.
